Awareness on political participation and election of leaders
HFAW raises awareness and educates women on their rights to democracy, good governance and political participation. HFAW is able to make a link between people’s lives and their lives as well as their wealth. When there is rampant corruption as is currently people can work but poverty will persist. It is for this reason we held a walk to raise awareness about electing leaders of integrity come 2017. HFAW empowers women in the counties to lobby for civic and political leadership positions through awareness creation walks and training workshops. Awareness raising on human rights
HFAW strives to ensure that right owners (communities) are aware of, and are able to demand, their rights; and the right givers are sufficiently engaged, own and participate in the process. In each one of HFAW trainings we have included a component of human rights where we raise awareness and share information about what human rights and women’s rights are all about—such as right to sexual pleasure, right to own land and property, right to be economically empowered, right to choose a marriage partner to name a few. When people are aware of their rights, they can strive to advocate for them.$0.00 donated
